One of our major rail clients are currently looking for an HSQE Coordinator who will work for both their Northern and Southern areas of their rail business. The HSQE Coordinator will assist the HSQE Manager and wider business management team in developing, implementing and maintaining all Health, Safety & Environmental standards throughout the business.
The role will include:
Assisting the HSQE Manager in creating and delivering programs and systems across the principle areas of Health, Safety, Quality & Environment.
Assist the HSQE Manager in ensuring a safe place of work in line with statutory requirements and industry best practice.
Maintain and improve the company’s Health, Safety & Environmental record and culture through the delivery of the Quality Environmental, Health & Safety (EHS) Management System to ISO 9001, 14001 and OHSAS 18001 standards.
Duties and responsibilities will include:
Assist the department manager in completion of risk assessments, COSHH assessments, undertake site audits across numerous UK locations predominantly on Rail Infrastructure.
Carry out management system audits for RISQS, ISO9001, 14001 & OHSAS 18001.
Support and advise all department managers in aspects of HSE Management & Compliance.
Work with department managers to implement a H&S culture.
Assist in monitoring KPI’s for EHS, preparing any necessary reports or documents as requested by the business.
Promote and support a Health & Safety culture by adhering to all areas of Health & Safety in
Actively involve any quality investigations or process improvement with regards to Health & Safety matters.
Work with the site safety representatives to develop them into advocates of HSE culture.
The Successful candidate will need to be able to demonstrate the following skills & experience:
Ideally educated to degree level
IOSH Managing Safely or equivalent Health & Safety Certification.
NEBOSH Certification (desirable)
Robust knowledge of Health, Safety & Environmental legislation especially Network Rail Regulations.
Proficient in using computers
Previous experience of working within Environment, Health & Safety Management systems.
High degree of self-motivation, determination to succeed and ability to work under own initiative.
Good interpersonal skills, particularly team working and verbal/written communication
Ability to achieve deadlines through excellent time management and organisation skills.
